This matric meisie says she looked and felt like a true princess after getting a makeover from Cape Flats Fairy Godmother Laylah Zokufa Khan.
Cevaria Greenfield, 18, who previously referred to herself as an “ugly duckling” could not believe her eyes when she saw her transformation.
The Mitchells Plain girl looked stunning in a tight-fitting red mermaid-style dress, with matching silver jewellery and shoes.
Cevaria stunned everyone as she stepped out of her mom’s home in Lost City on Friday night, to attend her matric ball at her Cedar High School Hall.
Cedar High only allows matric ball partners if they both attend the school, and Cevaria opted to go alone like several of her classmates.
Mom Elizabeth Greenfield, 46, could not hold back her tears when she first saw her daughter emerge from her room.
“Oh my God, she looks beautiful,” the mom gasped.
“The three days of fasting and praying paid off, and God has come through for us.”
Turning to the drag diva, she said: “Thank you Laylah for everything you did for her.”
Cevaria was bursting with excitement and could not wait to impress her school friends.
The teen, who previously said she looked forward to Laylah turning her into a swan, said: “I’m so emotional, I have mixed emotions... the hair, nails, make-up, shoes, accessories, it all came together, this is my dream ball come true.
“I can’t wait to get to the hall and show everyone how beautiful I look!”
Laylah arrived at the Erica Street house uitgevat in a skin-tight mint green rok, and immediately set to work dressing Cevaria, while curious neighbours gathered outside to get a glimpse of the final product.
Cevaria was Laylah’s last project for this year, but the diva says she looks forward to spreading her magical fairy dust next year again with the new batch of matriculants.
The big-hearted drag queen says: “I’m happy to have made another dream come true for a matric student. I hope she enjoys this feeling and make good memories.”
