The way mense are carrying on, you would swear that it wasn’t the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women and Children.

This week, some horrific crimes have been committed against women and children.

Noluvo Swelindawo, 21, was abducted, beaten up and shot dead in Driftsands, apparently because she was a

lesbian.

Nopinki Fuba, 34, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, and her body dumped at a communal toilet in Khayelistha.

And the skool kinders are out of control.

Two shocking videos have surfaced of bully schoolgirls viciously attacking fellow learners at Luckhoff Senior Secondary School in Stellenbosch.

Scary stuff.

People, especially men, really need to wake up and take this campaign to heart. This is a massive problem.

The Daily Voice is part of the “Don’t Look Away” campaign, and we are doing our bit to raise awareness, but it is up to you, the public, to make this a part of your everyday life.

It’s a serious issue, but tell that to Howard Oliver, one of the men accused of robbing, raping and strangling teenager Franziska Blochliger in Tokai Forest earlier this year.

The suspect claimed he took part in the sick crime because he was trying to raise R200 to pay his child’s creche fees.

What a sick joke. Can you imagine what mayhem the ou would have wrought if he needed to pay his child’s university fees?

No! He can take that excuse and shove it.

The judge should really take a zero-tolerance approach and give him the maximum punishment if he is found guilty.
