Ajax is sitting top of the GladAfrica Championship table, thanks to back-to-back victories on the road this past week.
They beat Real Kings 2-1 at Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday and followed that up with another 2-1 win against Royal Eagles at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.
They’ll be on the road again this weekend to visit Free State Stars at Goble Park on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Cape Umoya United won the battle for bragging rights in the Mother City against Steenberg United at Athlone Stadium on Friday.
Umoya won the match 1-0 to register their second win in a row, putting a stop to Steenberg’s astonishing 12-game unbeaten run. The last time Steenberg lost was interestingly against Umoya last year.
Steenberg will next host Uthongathi today at Athlone Stadium while Umoya’s next match is at the same venue against Jomo Cosmos on Friday.
