Familiar faces back​

Two familiar faces are back in SA football after short stints overseas.

Ex-Ajax boys Granwald Scott and Sameehg Doutie are home again after playing in Slovakia and India respectively.

Former Ajax skipper Scott bid an emotional farewell to Ajax but is back in the country less than a year later, after making just three starts at Slovan Bratislava.

Wits think he can help their title bid so they have signed the 29-year-old.

Doutie, meanwhile, played for Orlando Pirates, Wits and SuperSport United up north before a fairly quiet move to the Indian Soccer League.

His contract with his club there, Atletico de Kolkata, wasn’t renewed and now he is back home at Ajax.

I’m always keen for our players to gain more experience overseas, but it is a worry that they never quite seem to last out there.

Let’s hope these boys can boost Wits and Ajax in the second half of the season.
