Kaizer Chiefs ace Lebogang Manyama says he and his clubmates are “quite ready to put a star on the jersey”, when they fight for the title of Kings of Africa in tomorrow’s 9pm Caf Champions League final against holders Al-Ahly.
Amakhosi are hoping to become the third South African club, after Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, to earn the star for winning the top prize in African club football.

And while the Glamour Boys have done well to reach the Casablanca showpiece after a turbulent season, Manyana warns: “We have one more obstacle, which is Al-Ahly and we know them well – they are most probably the biggest club in Africa for the longest time.
“We know what to expect and we know very well that they have a South African technical team [led by two-time champion coach Pitso Mosimane].
“Some of them, we’ve played for or worked with.
“And we are an open book to them.
“We are quite ready to put a star on the jersey. We have to do this for the badge.”
