Jan Olde Riekerink believes the only way is up for his Cape Town City players when they host AmaZulu in the PSL on Wednesday.
The Dutchman saw his team move off the foot of the league on Sunday with their first win in his five-match tenure.
With a goal drought that coincided with the winless run also broken, Riekerink hopes his players have had enough of the tough times and are ready to kick on.
BIG BELIEF: Cape Town City. Picture: Ryan Wilkisky/BackpagePix.
He says: “Football isn’t only a ball and 22 players, there’s also a lot of emotion.
“I must compliment my players for fighting from the position they are in and you can’t always play good football.
“Emotions are a big part of the game and they are just normal people.
“I can see that they are happy. You can see that they suffer and what they want.”
