Ubuntu FC have climbed off the bottom of the National First Division table after beating local rivals Cape Umoya 2-0 at Boland Stadium.
The result sees the two clubs swap places, with Roger de Sa’s Umoya dropping to the foot of the table, while Ubuntu move up to 15th place.
Stellenbosch, meanwhile, continued their winning ways, beating Uthongathi FC 1-0 away at King Zwelithini Stadium.
High-flying Stellies have now won three matches in a row and have opened up a four-point gap at the top.
Ajax Cape Town’s promotion ambitions took another knock this past weekend when they opened their new academy - the Lambda Institute - as they lost 1-0 at home against Royal Eagles.
Meanwhile, the NFD Qualification Competition for the Nedbank Cup kicks off this weekend.
