Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira faces a layoff after injuring himself during a Champions League game at Valencia, the Turin club said Thursday.
The 31-year-old German pulled a muscle in his left thigh and left the pitch limping during Juve's 2-0 win in Spain on Wednesday. The Italian champions did not state how long they expect to miss him.
Brazilian winger Douglas Costa also had to be replaced with a muscular issue some 20 minutes after coming on in the second half. The club said he was to be evaluated Friday.
Costa is out with a four-game ban in the Italian Serie A after a spitting incident last weekend.
