Brighton are copping flak over their Covid-19 testing programme after confirming a third player has contracted the deadly disease.
Their Premier League colleagues are bedonnerd after they were told to hold back from testing players until the Premier League’s privately-operated testing system is in place - which was set to be signed off at Monday's crucial Project Restart meeting.
The new protocols are not expected to apply until players are permitted to train in small groups, which is pencilled in for May 18.
Only four Brighton players have been tested, with three positive results and one negative.
Since the start of May, cases in the football community have shot up as they look to resume on the continent, with Germany confirming 10 positive tests, Portugal three, Spain five and Italy 11.
