The premier soccer league has confirmed the most important dates, venues, and kick-off times for the upcoming MTN8 semi-finals.

The fixture puts together the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates, and Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals, with MTN8 fans at Betway eagerly waiting to wager on the action.

The first leg of the MTN8 will take place this coming weekend, which is on 31 October and 1 November. The second leg will happen on 7 and 8 November.

The teams involved in the other semi-final fixtures are Bloemfontein Celtic and Supersport United.

The matches for all the four teams will begin at 3 pm.

First Leg

Orlando Pirates will play host to the rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the first game of the two scheduled Soweto derby. The most awaited match will be played at Orlando stadium.

The last encounter between the two teams in the MTN8 was in the final back in 2015 in Durban. In the quarterfinals, Orlando claimed victory in the match against Cape Town. For Kaizer chiefs, they came from a goal down to beat Maritzburg United.

Supersport United and Bloemfontein Celtic will fight it out in the second quarterfinal game on Sunday afternoon. The match will take place at Lucas Moripe stadium.

The game is expected to be interesting since Supersport United is the defending champions of the MTN8. However, Bloemfontein Celtic might pull another surprise after beating Mamelodi sundown 1-0 at home.

Bearing this in mind, they will enter this game with a lot of confidence, but punters at betwaysa.org might want to consider wagering on other options than a three-way.

Considering those factors, the crash between the two teams makes it an exciting match to watch.

Second Leg

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 is when the second leg will take place. The first match on Saturday will be between Bloemfontein Celtic and SuperSport United, played at Dr. Molemela Stadium in Mangaung. The main goal for Bloemfontein Celtic is to reach their first-ever MTN8 final.

On Sunday, the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will lock horns at FNB stadium for a place in the 2020/2021 MTN8 final.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, all four matches will be played behind closed doors.

However, all the games will be televised live.

The most successful team in the MTN8 competitions are the Kaizer chiefs. The Chiefs have lifted the trophy 15 times ever since the inception of the tournament in 1972.

Orlando Pirates come close in second position with nine crowns under their name.

The last time Orlando Pirates lifted the trophy was back in 2011 and for Kaizer Chiefs was back in 2014. In recent years, the cup has been won by the smaller sides in the PSL.

Ajax Cape Town won in 2015, taking up the trophy from the Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, who were the tournament’s previous winners. That was before which Platinum Stars and Moroka Swallows reigned victorious in 2013 and 2012, respectively. MTN has been sponsoring the event from 2008 up to date. The winner takes home R8 million.
