Benni McCarthy is aiming to transform his AmaZulu team into the best in Africa, and he will get his first test against former club, Cape Town City, this weekend.
The Mzansi legend will welcome Eric Tinkler’s Citizens to the Moses Mabhida Stadium for Sunday’s 6pm clash in the first round of the MTN8 – the first piece of silverware on offer for the season.
We’re back in action this Sunday! 😄

But McCarthy has bigger fish to fry after qualifying for the Caf Champions League by finishing runner-up in the PSL last season.
And he reckons Usuthu can eclipse Kaizer Chiefs’ losing maiden appearance in this season’s final and go all the way.
He says: “The president [Sandile Zungu] said it, we’re not going in there in the Champions League just to add numbers. We’re going because we see ourselves as title contenders.
“If we look at what we did last season, I think we got a hell of a shot of going all the way.”
