Premier League champions Manchester City completed the signing of Dutch defender Philippe Sandler from PEC Zwolle late Tuesday.
The 21-year-old, who can also play in midfield, signed an unspecified contract with City, with media reports putting the transfer fee as being up to 3 million pounds (3.9 million dollars).
Sandler came through the Ajax youth system and has four caps for Holland's Under-20 side.

The move was agreed last season after scouts came to see him play for Zwolle, something Sandler could not believe at the time.
"I thought initially that they were keeping tabs on me and did not expect them to approach me or PEC Zwolle during the winter break to transfer to the club," the Manchester Evening News quoted him as saying at the time.
"But that is what happened and I am delighted. I am really positive about my impending transfer, it's like a fairytale."
