Meanwhile at Old Trafford, Wolves became the 12th team to do the double over United this season! That’s a f*****g shocker even in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
My word, the problem appears to be getting deeper and the fix further away week by week. The result didn’t come as a surprise though. The mid-week “comeback” against 10-man Lyon was incredible, but should never have happened with two last-gasp goals in two minutes.
You have to fancy Villa for a big shot at Champions League football again next season after their thumping of Newcastle
They were great once they woke up against PSG last week and left the competition with heads held high.
It’s strange, because the form book will tell you more often than not that after a mid-week Champions League, most sides drop a gear or two in the league the following weekend.
That certainly wasn’t the case for Arsenal as well. We haven’t chatted since the undoing of Real!
You all know how much I don’t like Arsenal, but wow, you have to give it to them.
They didn’t sit deep, went at Real toe-to-toe, it was brilliant to watch. I haven’t seen a game of that quality and excitement in the Premier League since I can remember.
Top-end stuff and fully deserving of their place in the semis… Please, please don’t let those w*****s win it though. I pray to you, the gods of football, I will offer my original Gianfranco Zola shirt as a sacrifice and eat tripe every day for a year rather than have to put up with that lot.
U-TURN: Declan Rice is top class U-TURN: Declan Rice is top class

I take back everything I’ve said about not rating Declan Rice that highly…
Anyway, London remains Blue until we see two Champions League trophies at the Emirates.
Massive game on Tuesday in the fight for Europe as Villa go to the Etihad, while Arsenal host Palace on Wednesday.
Chat next week, bye bye.
HELLO my good football people, I trust all is well with you!
Can we just get this frikkin season over and done with.
Watching the champions-to-be on Sunday was another reminder of how average they’ve become since that incredible start under Arne Slot, which had Scousers purring after pre-season jitters on the impact of the loss of Jurgen Klopp.
And by the way, it looks like Klopp will be turning down a rumoured offer from Real Madrid to replace the outgoing Carlo Ancelotti (as well as an alleged approach from the Brazilian Football Confederation).
His agent, Marc Kosicke, dismissed the speculation, confirming Klopp’s contentment as Global Head of Football at Red Bull.
But yeah, I was half expecting a 3 or 4-0 demolition at Leicester post the re-signing of Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk, however another laboured win.
The only interesting moment being the travelling fans’ acknowledgment of Real Madrid right-back-to-be Trent Alexander-Arnold, who scored the winning goal.
It was a good moment for the kid, who has taken a lot of unnecessary stick in recent weeks.
It was another weekend of below-par performances for Manchester United and Chelsea, with Ruben Amorim looking like the imposter he is and Enzo Maresca’s 2-1 win glossing over a horrible first half which mirrored the last few months that have seen Chelsea drop from second to sixth, looking unlikely to secure a top-five finish.
I mean, what the f**k has happened to Reece James? Club captain, outstanding right-back, those marauding runs up the line, the dangerous crosses and tackling technique?
I’m a big fan, but since his latest injury (and switch inside the field) he just isn’t the same. There are too many mistakes throughout the team, too many bad passing decisions... players running into correct channels and not receiving the ball. It’s pedestrian, boring and frustrating to watch.
The Blues were flying high, fans were singing “we’ve got our Chelsea back” the same squad of players were looking great. What happened?
There was a lot of arm waving and complaining at each other at Fulham… never a good sign.
Pedro Neto, one of the guilty parties, was terrible for 85 minutes, he never looked up when crossing the ball and gave it away countless times. Okay, scored a brilliant winner, but let that highlight not fool you.
