SPRINGBOK assistant coach Tony Brown says the possible return of Tomas Albornoz at flyhalf has made Argentina ’n gevaarliker span ahead of Saturday’s Rugby Championship Test match in Durban.

South Africa tackle a Pumas team that are also in the race to win this year’s Rugby Championship.

The Argentinians, who beat Australia 28-26 in Sydney, have been strengthened by the return of their star No.10 Albornoz, who missed his team’s first four games of the competition.

Albornoz was the architect behind the Pumas’ 29-28 win over the Boks in last year’s clash in Santiago del Estero.

Brown said of how dangerous Albornoz can be: “Both their flyhalves are good players.

“In my opinion, Albornoz was probably the breakthrough player of the competition for them last year, and he’s a huge figure in their team. He’s decision-making is good, and he certainly has a bright future.”

Although the Boks klapped the All Blacks by a record score of 43-10 in Wellington, Brown feels the defending champions will need to make an even bigger step-up if they want to beat Argentina this weekend.

The attack guru wysed: “The Pumas are a completely different team.

“They’ve beaten the All Blacks and Wallabies already, so if we don’t pitch up in the right frame of mind, and try to be as dominant as possible, it will be a tough outing.

“It’s vital for us that we get our game plan right this week. We showed patches of good rugby in the last few matches, but we’d like to put together a strong 80-minute performance, and use most of our opportunities, which is something we must still get right.”

The Bok team to tackle Argentina will be named on Tuesday.
