DAMIAN de Allende is ready to put in some “big hits” when he and his Springbok manskap come up against a fast and furious Japanese team in Saturday's 6.10pm Test match at Wembley .

According to De Allende, quick ball and also preventing quick ball will be key to klapping Eddie Jones’ Brave Blossoms who will target an upset – similar to the one they pulled off in 2015 in Brighton in a World Cup pool game.

Japan have been on a steady rebuild under Jones, and showed last week they can be gevaarlik after losing net-net by 19-15 to Australia in Tokyo.

And after seeing them run the Wallabies close, the Boks know they can’t kyk Japan vlak. De Allende said: “They got stuck into Australia... a lot of us who play club rugby in Japan know that the league is not easy; it’s tough.

“We all saw that on Saturday against Australia. We know what’s coming and it is going to be fast.”

However, the former Stormers yster is gereed to stop the Japanese attack in their tracks and wysed: “This game is probably going to be won, or lost at the breakdown. Their scrum and lineouts are going better, but it is the speed of their breakdowns that’s a threat.

“We have watched a lot of clips where their scrumhalf gets the ball out in under a second. So, it’s important for us to make those big hits – properly and legally – and slow their ball down.”

De Allende will face some familiar fire from Japan’s midfield when he comes up against Wild Knights teammate Dylan Riley.

Of that battle, he added: “It’s going to be incredible... Dylan is deceptively fast and strong… I‘m looking forward to that challenge.”
