SALMAAN Moerat is injured again and is “highly unlikely” to feature for the Stormers when they tackle the Sharks in Durban this weekend.

The Kapenaars will be out to exact revenge on their hosts, who handed them their first defeat in the United Rugby Championship (URC) in the Mother City last weekend.

It was in that 30-19 defeat that the Stormers captain got injured.

Coach John Dobson revealed after the match that Moerat suffered an injury to his toe after coming off the bench.

Forwards coach Rito Hlungwani then revealed in a press conference on Tuesday: “[Moerat] didn’t train today...

“If he didn’t train [on a Tuesday], he is highly unlikely to play.”

There is some good news for the Stormers, though, with the return to fitness of No.8 Evan Roos and lock Adre Smith who were both involved in training on Tuesday.

Roos suffered a groin strain which ruled him out of the defeat at the weekend, while Smith recovered from a knee infection.

Of playing the Sharks in back-to-back matches and having the opportunity to right the wrongs of last week, Hlungwani added: “It gives you the opportunity to deal with the mistakes that you made instead of waiting three to four months to play them again.

“It is quite a unique situation.”

The Stormers are in second place on the URC standings after nine rounds, with the Sharks down in 11th.
