15. Willie le Roux - 4
Was heavily involved in the match, making 20 passes in total, but didn’t have a big impact. Gave the final pass for Jesse Kriel’s try, but also passed one ball over the head of Pieter-Steph du Toit.
14. Cheslin Kolbe - 7.5
Didn’t put a foot wrong and excited every time the Boks the ball in his hands.
13. Jesse Kriel - 3
Scored a try, but also couldn’t organise the defence and shot up unnecessarily in the build-up to Wales’s first try.
12. Damian de Allende - 3
Didn’t give the Boks much in attack and defence before being replaced early in the second half.
11. Aphiwe Dyantyi - 3
Rushed in on defence in the build-up to Wales’s second try and didn’t make much of an impact with ball in hand.
10. Handre Pollard - 5
Decent outing at flyhalf, but not the Pollard that played against Scotland.
9. Embrose Papier - 6
Made a good break and should have scored a try if it wasn’t for a knock-on. A couple of poor passes, but had a decent outing.
8. Duane Vermeulen - 6
Made 39 metres on attack and worked hard. But failed to dominate physically like we expect “Thor” to do.
7. Pieter-Steph du Toit - 6
Almost scored in the fourth minute of the match, but had a foot in touch. Busy again, but not the Du Toit we’ve become used to.
6. Siya Kolisi - 5.5
Needed to man up more as the leader of the team. Kolisi, though, made 21 metres with ball in hand and 10 tackles.
5. Franco Mostert - 5
Made a lot of tackles early in the match, but failed again to be a monster for the Boks.
4. RG Snyman - No rating
Was replaced by Eben Etzebeth early in the match because of injury. Etzebeth also didn’t enjoy a Test to write home about.
3. Frans Malherbe - 5
Impressive at the start of the match, putting in tackle after tackle.
2. Malcolm Marx - 5.5
Another great performance at the breakdown, but the biggest disappointment was the missed tackle that led to Wales' opening try.
1. Steven Kitshoff - 5
Conceded a penalty and didn’t offer much on attack. Scrummed well though.
