“We are trying to fight our way into the top eight. Dobbo [coach John Dobson] always says we’re running out of runway and the next game is crucial. From here we must win every single game all the way to the final.
“We know we are a good team, if things worked out slightly differently the log would have looked different. We are essentially playing knockout rugby. No one wants to lose.
“We’re looking to rectify that [the mistakes in their 38-34 defeat to Ulster last time out], there is still time for us to do something [great] and we’re looking to do that.”
Dobson will announce his side for the clash on Friday.
THE Stormers are running out of runway to launch their flight in the United Rugby Championship, meaning it’s amper tyd to push the panic button.
In fact, it will be a catastrophe if they go down to Connacht at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday in what will be lock Ruben van Heerden’s 50th match for the franchise.
While the 27-year-old can’t wait to play in the milestone match, qualifying for the knockout stage of the URC takes is more important.
With his team in 10th place - hunting for a top-eight playoffs spot with four matches left to play - Van Heerden says: “It’s very special playing 50 games for a franchise as proud as the Stormers…”
