LIVERPOOL need just one log point against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday at 5.30pm to win a 20th Premier League title.

The Reds were forced to wait until the weekend for possible celebrations, as Arsenal played to a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening.

If the Gunners had lost that match, the Reds would have been crowned champions.

But in a way putting their champers on ice worked out better for Trent Alexander-Arnold and his teammates, as they could now possibly celebrate in front of the Kop.

The Reds last won the league in the 2019/20 season, which was during Covid-19, meaning they couldn’t celebrate with their fans.

Alexander-Arnold says: “To do it [win the title at Anfield] - especially with fans here as well is a very, very special moment.”

Should he play this weekend, the match will also be Luis Diaz’s 100th appearance for the Reds.

The race for a top-four spot is also heating up as the season draws to a close.

With third-placed Manchester City and Nottingham Forest in fourth playing in the FA Cup this weekend, fifth-placed Newcastle are looking to leapfrog both of them when they host Ipswich, who will be fighting to avoid relegation this weekend, at 4pm on Saturday.

WEEKEND PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES:

Saturday: Chelsea v Everton (1.30pm), Brighton v West Ham, Newcastle v Ipswich, Southampton v Fulham, Wolves v Leicester (all 4pm).

Sunday: Bournemouth v Man United (3pm), Liverpool v Spurs (5.30pm).
