MANCHESTER United manager Ruben Amorim reckons new 22-year-old Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko has all the tools to significantly strengthen their attack.
Sesko completed a high-profile £76.5 million (R1.8 billion) transfer from RB Leipzig, with an additional £8.5m in potential bonuses, signing a contract until 2030.
He joins fellow new arrivals Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in what is expected to be a rejuvenated front line at Old Trafford.
Sesko scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for Leipzig and is known for his aerial strength, pace, and technical skill. Amorim wysed MUTV: “He has the characteristics that we needed. Ben is a player – with all the information that we have – that we need to stop the guy from working, not the opposite!
“So that is also important. He’s really young. He’s good in the air, he’s good at running the channels, good on the ball. I think he has great potential. I think he can improve a lot and, for sure, he is going to feel at home in our club.
“He has the right character to be in this group, so I’m really happy to have him.”
Sesko was officially presented to mense at Old Trafford ahead of United’s friendly against Fiorentina on Saturday, which they won 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Amorim added: “He is going to notice, since the first day and first training, that he is in the right place.
“He is going to a new building [at Carrington], that is also important. Things are getting better but, in the end, we need to win games.”
After a swak 15th-place finish in the Premier League last season – their worst in over 50 years – United have invested heavily in the close season, spending around £200m to overhaul the squad.
They will begin the 2025–26 campaign with a home tie against Arsenal on Sunday, aiming for a strong rebound with new attacking firepower.
