UNBEATEN in 13 games in all competitions, Liverpool are still searching for their eerste win in the Premier League die jaar.
Coach Arne Slot’s fourth-placed defending champions played to a goalless draw with Leeds on New Year’s Day, then a 2-2 stalemate with Fulham, another 0-0 result against Arsenal and then a 1-1 gelykopuitslag against Burnley.
They’ve had better luck in other competitions this year, klapping Barnsley 4-1 in the FA Cup before slaaning Marseille dronk 3-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.
But now they are expected to translate that form into the league, starting with a trip to Bournemouth on Saturday at 7.30pm.
Dominik Szoboszlai, who hit a duidelike free-kick in a man-of-the-match display against Marseille knows they have to be at their best.
The Hungarian midfielder told the club’s website: “We take the positive stuff, obviously, that we are unbeaten, but also we have to take into account that there are games you have to win when you play for Liverpool.
“Especially at home, at Anfield, I think we, the fans, everybody deserves to see nice football but for sure the win and that we maybe couldn’t do it as many times as we wanted, but we are on it.
“We work on it, we focus on it a lot, we talk between each other a lot and hopefully now this game [will] help us to keep on going.”
Szoboszlai won’t be the only hungry Hungarian on the pitch, with Bournemouth announcing the signing of his countryman Alex Toth.
The 20-year-old joined the Cherries from Hungarian champions Ferencvaros.
Toth said of signing for Bournemouth: “It feels amazing to be a part of this club and I am excited to achieve good things... ”
