BOURNEMOUTH ended Liverpool’s 13-game unbeaten run as Amine Adli’s 95th-minute strike secured a thrilling 3-2 win for the Cherries on Saturday.

Mohamed Salah was back in Liverpool’s starting line-up for a Premier League match for the first time since November, but Arne Slot’s manne came unstuck on England’s south coast.

The visitors fell 2-0 behind to goals from Evanilson and Alex Jimenez in the 26th and 33rd minutes respectively before Virgil van Dijk reduced the deficit in the 46th minute.

Dominik Szoboszlai appeared to have rescued a point for the champions with a sweet strike in the 80th minute, but Bournemouth still were not done.

Amine Adli prodded home to make it 3-2 with nearly the last touch of the game after a scramble in the box following a long throw, sparking scenes of pandemonium.

Van Dijk told Sky Sports: “I am very disappointed. Last minute of the game is very tough to take. We worked very hard in the second half to get back in the game.”

Slot blamed the tight turnaround and his threadbare options due to a number of injuries for his span running out of steam.

Slot wysed: “They probably had even more chances than us [in the final 10 minutes] which shouldn’t come as a complete surprise to me knowing that we’ve played two days before in Marseille.

“For the last four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10 games we’ve had to play with the same players [due to] the players we had available and then sometimes a few of them could be at the end of the game a bit tired.

“I think that’s what you could see at the end today [Saturday] as well.”
