LOSE to Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday at 5.30pm and Manchester United will equal their record for the most defeats suffered in a single Premier League season.
As it stands, that record is held by the Class of 2023-24, who lost 14 matches and finished eighth in the league.
Following their 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest earlier this week, United are down in 13th place with eight matches to play and have already lost 13 times.
Fullback Diogo Dalot hopes his manne will go all out to try and prevent an unwanted record-equalling stat - starting with the match against the blue half of Manchester.
While results have not gone their way, Dalot believes they are on the right track, saying: “We want to change the situation, to not be in the position that we are, especially in the Premier League...
“We still have to suffer a little bit, but in terms of trying to get out of this situation and trying to improve I think we are on the right track.”
His defensive partner Leny Yoro, meanwhile, wrote on Instagram following the defeat to Forest: “Heads up. All focus on the derby this Sunday.”
Pep Guardiola’s City, meanwhile, have also not been at their best this season and are looking to avoid an unwanted league double to their neighbours - having lost 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium last time out.
They broke into the league top four on Wednesday night, when they beat Leicester 2-0 thanks to goals from Jack Grealish and Omar Marmoush.
