Cape Town City on Thursday became the first club to get back to training.
PSL clubs were told this week at a board of governors meeting that they can resume their programmes once they have complied with the league and government’s Covid-19 health and safety directives.
Clubs have to submit their paperwork and then wait for approval from the league, on a one-on-one basis. And City were first out of the blocks yesterday after preparing their Hartleyvale facilities in anticipation and coming up
coronavirus-free after the PSL’s round of testing.
HARD WORK: Thato Mokeke
City tweeted: “Congrats to management who have worked around the clock to ensure we are one of the first PSL clubs to be fully Covid compliant.”

While the full squad was present, players were broken up into smaller focus groups.
LEGGING IT: Edmilson Dove
The Mother City’s other top-flight club, Stellenbosch,
meanwhile, were still awaiting their clearance after submitting their compliance documents on Wednesday. The Boland side confirmed three positive cases during testing.
While clubs are getting back to work now, they are still paaping on the league’s decision on when they will return to play.
Dates and the venue for Biologically Safe Environment have yet to be confirmed and announced by the PSL, despite waiting on the bosses’ call since Tuesday’s meeting.
