A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed after being caught in a crossfire during in a drive-by shooting.
Police say Jarief Senosky, 13, was shot on Saturday night in La Boheme Street in Scottsdene, Kraaifontein, at 8.30pm.
“A suspect is yet to be arrested. It is suspected that the child was caught in the crossfire of suspects who were shooting at each other,” police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut confirmed yesterday.

“He and my son, Lee-Jano, 9, used to walk to school. He was in Grade 6 at Parkdene Primary. They are all going to miss him.
“He was a little joker and never made any trouble for me.”
Edwina says a neighbour came to tell them Jarief had been shot close to their house.
“They were in a car and shot him at close range. The bullet hit him just below the shoulder and went through his heart.”
She adds: “My dad still bought him this brown pants for Christmas, but he never wore it. Now he will wear it at his own funeral.”
Oupa, Jacobus Louw, 58, says Jarief was the only son of his daughter, Natasha, who is severely traumatised by his murder.
“He was our eldest grandchild. We were at a shop in Brackenfell when we were told he’d been shot, but we didn’t know he was dead. “When we got there, his eyes were still open. He used to sleep like that, and we didn’t know he was dead.”
