Two top Cape Town singers have taken the plight of hungry kids to heart and on Monday gave a helping hand feeding children as part of the Blisters For Bread campaign.
Jarrad Ricketts and Paxton Fielies visited Stratford Primary School in Eerste River where they teamed up with the Peninsula School Feeding Association to feed 130 h onger pupils mielie pap and breyani.

The PSFA’s Fundraising Manager, Charles Grey, said the children were delighted and full of smiles when they saw who came to feed them.
The two stars also interacted with the laaities.
“The children were ecstatic to see Paxton and Jarrad at their school, they were delighted to interact with the singers,” says Grey.

“We are also extremely delighted to announce that three of South Africa’s top pop sensations, Paxton Fielies, Jarrad Ricketts and Johnny Apple will be performing live at the finish line, Green Point Cricket Stadium on 26 August at the annual Blisters For Bread charity event.”
The PSFA currently provides nutritious cooked meals to a total of 27 339 pupils every day at 166 educational institutions in the Western Cape.
Of these, nearly 26 000 pupils are at 150 primary, secondary and special needs schools, 306 children are fed at 11 Early Childhood Development Centres (ECDs), 350 children at three Orphans and Vulnerable Children Centres (OVCs) and 700 students at two Technical Vocational Education and Training Colleges (TVETs).
Grey says: “Over and above the ingredients supplied to each educational institution on our feeding programme, PSFA also provides gas stoves, gas bottles, gas, pots, plates, eating spoons and cooking utensils.”
Paxton and Jarrad helped serve pap at 9.30am and fish breyani to the pupils.

“I’m honoured to be part of this association; it’s in line with what I do. I’m part of two global campaigns - one fights for the rights of children and the other is about the development of youth,” Paxton says.
“I love taking part in these things, especially in communities like mine.”
Jarrad urged mense to get involved to help ease the plight of the poor and needy.
