After a successful run at the Baxter Theatre last year, David Kramer’s hit musical Danger In The Dark is back for a second albeit short season from 9 to 28 March.
The play is based on Shakespeare’s Othello and is reworked from the hit musical Poison by Kramer and the late Taliep Petersen.
The cast includes Alexis Petersen as Pamela, Rushney Ferguson as Juanita, Loukmaan Adams as Michael, and Elton Landrew as Poison.
With this reworked version, Kramer has decided to tell the story from the point of view of Pamela, a social worker who is writing her thesis on drug abuse on the Cape Flats.
Set in the underbelly of the Cape Flats, the story unfolds in 1995, when Pamela meets up with Juanita, a friend from her school days.
Soon she realises that Juanita is trapped in an abusive relationship with a drug lord and she is desperate to help her friend escape.
Cast member Loukmaan Adams says it’s been a great year of theatre for him.

“I am excited to do the return season. Danger in the Dark is back with five nominations for the Fleur De Cap and I just finished Aunty Merle - It’s A Girl, which also had five nominations.
“Danger in the Dark is bigger, better and still so current with all the issues that we have happening in communities today.”
