HOLLYWOOD stars Jack Quaid and Drew Barrymore raved about Cape Town on the latest screening of the The Drew Barrymore Show.
Quaid, the 32-year-old son of Tinseltown veterans Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, sat down with Drew and the two showbiz brats to talk about The Boys star’s new movie Novocaine.
The fliek is about a quiet bank executive who can’t feel pain, but when his new romantic fling is held hostage at his place of work, he goes on the rampage.
He revealed that while Novocaine is set in San Diego, it was actually filmed in Cape Town in 2024.
The actor even shared a stunning selfie from his time there, with Table Mountain as the backdrop.
He went on to describe how much he enjoyed his stay, and from his account, it sounds like he stayed in the V&A Waterfront Marina, where he was woken each morning by the sounds of Cape Fur seals.
Quaid says: “Table Mountain views were so gorgeous.
“What I loved the most was where I was staying - there was this group of seals by the water,” he said, showing a video of the seals lounging on a wooden platform at the V&A Waterfront.
He described the sounds they made as being like a “jolly man laughing,” which became his favourite noise.
It was the best,” he added before launching into an amusing impersonation of the seals.
Barrymore, who filmed Blended with Adam Sandler in South Africa in 2013, reminisced about her time in the country, calling Cape Town a place she “fell in love with.”
