The Coronovirus lockdown hasn’t been tough on everyone.
In fact, radio and TV presenter, Kia Johnson’s career has flourished with two new appointments in as many months.
Kia joined Radio Tygerberg as the breakfast show host at the start of April, and this June, she will be hitting our TV screens as the new host of 50/50 on SABC2.

Kia broke the news this week and the upcoming season of the environmental programme premieres on Monday, 8 June.
Kia says: “I think the timing is perfect as I get to share my passion for the environment with everyone.
“Most people are now starting to create their own garden spaces, whether it’s growing veggies or loving the earth more because of the time we are in and all the time some of us have.”
The mom of two says she will have to juggle her two jobs with home-schooling her Grade 2 daughter.
“At the moment I’m a co-host on the morning breakfast show Ontbyt on Radio Tygerberg 104FM with my colleague, Anton Brink, and I’m also co-founder for Mycelium Media Colab, a female-owned company that focuses on the sustainability and regenerative field inclusive of my anchor presenter position on 50/50,” she says.
“I have to be honest, it’s a bit challenging now because of lockdown, but I’m also doing homework, my daughter is in Grade 2 and her teacher is very strict, so jy maak net seker al die skool werk is klaar.
“I am trying to balance it, but some days are tougher than others. It’s a challenge we are all facing.”
