A controversial new biography reveals how the relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan, and brother William and Duchess Kate soured.
The book Finding Freedom - which is being serialised in the British press - gives detailed insight into the lead up to the Sussexes stepping back from Royal obligations earlier this year.
Harry and Meghan, who now live in California with baby Archie, however insist they did not give the authors, Royal journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, any interviews.
In explosive revelations revealed in the excerpts:
Harry was “pissed off” with “snob” William as he was warned to take things slow with “this girl” Meghan;
William questioned Meghan’s intentions fearing that the Duke of Sussex was being “blindsided by lust;
William and Harry barely spoke for several months after the alleged “that girl” comment, and Kate did little to bridge the gap with Meghan because they were “not the best of friends”.
Palace insiders called Meghan “Harry’s showgirl” saying she came with a “lot of baggage”;
Meghan felt her treatment by some Palace staff was “sexist” and “prejudiced” and that as a “successful woman of colour” she was labelled “demanding”.
Kate and Meghan never became friends - the latter was “disappointed” she never reached out.
Insiders told Daily Mail William has been left “sad” and “disappointed” by the claims in Finding Freedom, insisting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge “rolled out the red carpet” for Meghan.
“How can you say they weren’t warm or welcoming when they hosted Meghan for Christmas... at their Anmer Hall [home] and did everything they could to make her feel at home? They personally cooked her favourite vegan food, they couldn’t have been more welcoming,” a friend said.
