Singer, voice artist and actor, Keeno Lee, is releasing his new single, called Blue Monday, this Friday.
Keeno, from Salt River, has been swamped with acting and TV work lately, but teamed up with Ebrahim Mallum on this “unfinished project”.
Keeno, 42, says: “Mr. Mallum and I have been collaborators since he produced my first single, Your Man, in 2008 and he went on to be executive producer of my album Revolution in 2011 and produced six tracks on the album.
The singer, who is a member of trio Black Ties, adds: “Lockdown allowed us time to revisit unfinished projects and when he found a song that we had recorded a while ago, lurking on his hard drive, it seemed like the perfect time to finish it off.
“We had decided to write a song about a situation everyone can relate to, and Blue Monday was born.
“Who hasn’t had a blue Monday? It’s the typical morning after the weekend before and the song speaks from the perspective of someone living for the arrival of Friday night.
“It’s not my typical soul pop sound, but Mr. Mallum has infused it with a driving beat which makes it perfect for summer, banishing those Monday blues.”
The song will be released on all digital platforms.
When not singing, the dad of one says he is busy with his acting career.
Keeno is currently working for three different companies, doing ADR (dubbing) for Indian and Turkish TV shows.
He is the voice of Nazif on the popular show Deur Dik en Dun.
