Celebrity cook Fatima Sydow has been diagnosed with cancer.
The Cape Malay cooking author and star of Kaap, Kerrie en Koeksisters took to Facebook on Friday to share the sad news with friends.
The 46-year-old posted: “Hello Everyone... All du’ahs and prayers needed... and very much appreciated.
“I got my results back today. And I have been diagnosed with Cancer. I'll be taking it one day at a time.
“I'm staying positive and I put all my faith in the Almighty and I'll be seen to by great doctors.
“Love you all so so much. (I'm not taking any calls at the moment).(sic)”

Two weeks ago, Fatima, from Lansdowne, told her followers that she would be taking a break from social media to prepare for surgery on her foot.
Fatima, who has a twin sister Gadija Sydow-Noordien, wrote: “I will be unavailable from the 17th of December.
“I have a tumour under my left foot, that's why I have been walking around with sloffies 24/7.
“It’s extremely painful, I've been working hop-hopping and pushing through... Upcoming surgery to remove it...
“Then healing takes place. Apologies to all who had plans with me or wanted to make plans with me. Love you.”

Fatima declined to speak to the Daily Voice on Sunday, but messages of support streamed in on social media.
Theatre producer Anwar McKay wrote: “I am sorry to hear this Fatima. I make du’ah for your full recovery,”
DJ Stan Mars said: “Strength and well wishes to you.”
Actress Vinette Ebrahim posted: “You got this Fatima! We're all here for you. May Allah in his infinite mercy grant you complete shifaa, Insha'Allah.”
