The TwinzSpin DJ brothers are ringing in the new year with their debut album, called Book Of Love Chapter 1, featuring Hamba Smallz.
Jade and Shad Isaacs, 24, from Goodwood say each song has been influenced by the emotions and upheavals artists like themselves are experiencing as they face the challenges of the Coronavirus lockdown.
“Book Of Love was created to express every emotion and feeling each artist went through in this chapter of their lives,” says Shad.
Jade adds: “Due to lockdown and Covid, the music, entertainment and event industries are suffering.”
They say the album is about different cultures coming together and spreading the love of music.
It consists of 13 songs, with genres ranging from Amapiano, House and Gqom to Afro Tech.
The broers say they were eager to produce something that will make their community proud when they teamed up with Hamba Smallz.
Shad says: “We wanted to do a project in our home town and involve a Cape Town artist.
“It's been an amazing journey. We started with the album in September 2020 and in three months, we could come up with the project called Book Of Love.
“It has been a great experience as we got to learn more about music.”
The album features a host of Cape Town musicians, including Zoe Zana, PJ Twins , Kelly Fontuin, Mrs K, Tarenzo Bathathe, Lorenzo Bathathe, DJ Ngamla, DJ Thando, Mikhail, Luie V, Sergio Guitarist and Cape Bandits.
TwinzSpin and Hamba Smallz plan to produce Chapter Two of the Book of Love later this year.
