TYLA is net daai girl, with the Mzansi superstar now chilling front row at the Paris Fashion Week.
The 22-year-old Grammy winner always seems to be the centre of attention wherever she goes, whether it’s music or fashion.
And this week, she had the internet buzzing looking hot in pink at the ever-exclusive Chanel show - sitting next to Anna Wintour, nogal.
For those who don’t know who Anna Wintour is, the 75-year-old is the fashion world’s top publicist and famously serves as editor of the glossy magazine Vogue.
She even had a movie made about her (fictional) life - The Devil Wears Prada’s Miranda Priestly was based on her.
But Tyla was looking on point next to the critic in her high-fashion look.
For her Chanel runway debut, Tyla gave the classic Chanel skirt suit a fresh, body-hugging twist, paying homage to the fashion house’s legacy while keeping it modern and, of course, undeniably Tyla.
She wore a strapless bustier with micro-mini bottoms, a play on the iconic tweed set, complete with exposed stitching and statement buttons reminiscent of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs from the ’90s.
Instead of the traditional full-length suit coat, she opted for a cropped bolero jacket draped over her shoulders, adding an air of effortless cool.
The finishing touches included an east-west Chanel purse, almond-toe slingbacks, chunky gold jewellery, and a jagged fringe haircut that screamed, “I am that sophisticated ghel!" (girl).
Speaking to Vogue magazine, Tyla shared: “These days I’m obsessed with high fashion mixed with street fashion.”
And lately, she admits she’s been deep in her Chanel era. Her latest purchase is a rare and unique gem from the label.
“My Chanel ankle monitor bag,” she revealed, a rare find from the Spring 2008 collection.
Originally designed by Coco Chanel in the 1920s, the suit was a game-changer for women’s fashion, offering a blend of elegance and practicality at a time when restrictive clothing was still the norm.
Then came Karl Lagerfeld in the ’80s and ’90s, who took the suit to new heights, making it sexier, bolder, and a favourite of supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Claudia Schiffer.
