A group of 12 skollies and skelms from Manenberg will appear in the Athlone Magistrate's Court on Monday morning after their homes were raided by cops on Friday.
Shortly after 4am a large group of cops descended on gang and drug houses across Manenberg and Heideveld searching for wanted suspects and drugs.
The operation, led by Lieutenant-Colonel Wynand Muller along with Law Enforcement, resulted in the arrest of 12 people wanted on various cases of murder, robbery and theft and a total of 30 drug and gang hotspots were searched.
While no drug arrests were made, a slim cop confiscated 40 bags of tik of a known mert for the Hard Livings gang.
While a search of the backyard dwelling in Gamka Street came up empty, the determined cop believed he heard the mert open his back window as cops arrived.
SEARCH: Drugs were confiscated
“Toe ons klop het ek die venster gehoor. Daai man het die goed uitgegooi. Ek gaan langsaan soek,” he said as he walked to a neighbour’s home.
About 10 minutes later, the officer was heard shouting: “Daar is dit nou!”
“Jy smokkel niks vandag, ek vat die station toe,” the smiling cop said as he counted the bags of tik on a bin.
