GRASSY Park cops busted a murder suspect in Parkwood on Tuesday night.
The police officers acted on an anonymous tip-off of the wanted man hiding out at a home in Parkers Walk.
Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana reports: “The members acted on the information they received and upon arrival at the identified address they heard someone jumping on top of the roof.
“The members in pursuit found the suspect on the roof with a 9mm pistol and four rounds of ammunition in his possession.
“The suspect was arrested and detained at Grassy Park police station.”
The man will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court once charged.
In a separate incident, Delft SAPS busted a skollie with a sakvol guns and ammunition at Sunny Acres shopping centre.
Manyana adds: “Members performed patrols in Sunny Acres shopping centre when they saw two men walking towards them.
“One of the two turned around upon noticing the police marked vehicle. The members found this suspicious and chased after the suspect during which the suspect dropped a sling bag and ran away.
“The second suspect then grabbed the sling bag but the members managed to catch him. “The members found a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver with six rounds of ammunition inside the bag.
“The 28-year-old man was subsequently arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.”
The man will appear at Bellville Magistrates court on the mentioned charges
