“They were at his nightclub when ouens in a red VW Golf and a white Hilux bakkie opened fire on them,” says the source.
“One of his men is dead but him and his son, Carlo, were rushed to the Mediclinic and both survived.”

Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut says the circumstances around the death of the 42-year-old man is being investigated.
“He was shot and killed last night at 7.15pm in Beach Road, Hawston, Hermanus.
“During the same incident, two men aged 62 and 36 sustained gunshot wounds and were admitted to hospital for treatment.
“This office is not in a position to disclose the identities.
“The motive for the incident is yet to be determined and suspects are yet to be arrested,” said Traut.
The attack follows hits on three high-profile gang members in recent weeks.
In March, Ernie’s nephew, Horatio “Voudie” Solomons, survived a hit at his Durbanville home in which his 13-year-old daughter died.
Cop sources say gang members swarmed Tygerberg Hospital for protection as Voudie underwent life-saving surgery.
In 2019, Voudie was outed as the leader for the Terrible Josters gang in Delft, Wesbank, Elsies River and Kleinmond as he and others faced a long list of charges at the Western Cape High Court.
“After they shot Voudie, one of Ernie’s bodyguards known as ‘Saygo’ was shot and killed in Bellville,” the source says.
During the trial, former gangsters turned State witness to piemp the Terrible Josters, they also outed Elton “Gappie” Ely as the Belhar leader of the gang.
“After Saygo was killed, there was an attempt on Gappie in Bellville, but they missed and killed his bodyguard,” says the source.
“Since Voudie was shot, there have been several hits on the dik dinge of the Josters.”
Ernie was once a 28s general and co-leader of The Firm, a grouping of gangs that included Hard Livings boss Rashied Staggie.
