The popular event, organised by the Nantes Athletic Club, was held in Athlone yesterday morning.
A record 4 500 entrants took part in the second annual race.
Young and old, families, runners from various clubs, and just mense wanting to get into shape, set off from Vangate Mall, heading through Bridgetown, Silvertown, along the newly upgraded Nantes field, past Park Town and past the infamous Kewtown “blokke”.
Runners were cheered on along the 5km as well as the 10km routes to the finish line at Vangate sports field.

The overall winner was Nadeel Wildschutt of the Itheko Sports Athletic Club, clocking a time of 30 minutes and 12 seconds — a new course record.
Nantes Athletics club is based at the Vangate Sports Complex and was established in 2014 to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through running and walking for the communities of Bridgetown, Kewtown, Silvertown and Parktown.
The club, one of the fastest growing athletics clubs in the Western Cape, boasts over 600 members of all ages, the majority being women.
