A mother from New Horizons near Pelican Park is spitting mad after a 28-year-old man allegedly assaulted her young son because the boy would not let the man’s little brother play a game with him and his friends.
Natasha Finch, 32, says on Saturday, the children were playing outside and that’s when her son, Jeremiah, eight, was attacked.
“I was sitting at a friend’s house talking. The children were playing ring-around-the-rosie in the quad in front of the house.
“This young boy kept nagging after Jeremiah-them said he cannot play with them.
“I still checked Jeremiah about not including everyone,” Natasha explains.
The mother says everything was fine until the older brother of the nagging boy came outside and saw what was going on.
The 28-year-old man is allegedly a member of the Six Bob gang.
HURT: The boy’s injury
“The children were turning around making themselves dizzy when he came out and kicked Jeremiah’s feet out from under him,” she says.
“My child landed flat on his back, and he started dragging him by the arm. I was so angry I called him a vark.
“I told him my son did nothing to him, but he ignored me and walked over to his friend.”
She says they called Grassy Park police, who took her and her son to the Retreat Day Hospital.
She says the police did not arrest the man as he was gone by the time they arrived.
“My son has a big knob on his head, bruising on his back and elbow and he constantly complains that his head is paining.
“The doctor has filled out a J88 form, but we first need those X-rays of his head.
“I couldn’t go back to the hospital because I didn’t have taxi fare.”
The mother says the doctor indicated he would be laying a charge on her behalf as soon as they have all the medical records required.
