The alleged gang leader of the Junior Cisko Yakkies “Yakuza” in Delft, who claims he is a taxi boss, has applied for bail after being charged with 18 crimes including colluding with corrupt cops.
Borne Lee Petersen, aka Bones, allegedly paid officers at Delft Police Station to smuggle drugs into prison and withdraw 20 other charges against him.
He currently faces 18 charges relating to the possession of ammunition, dealing in drugs, charges under the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (Poca), theft of a motor vehicle and corruption.
He is expected to appear at the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on January 17 for the continuation of his bail application.
Petersen is believed to be the leader of the 26s JCY gang in Delft, allegedly putting up tjappies on houses of the “JCY Yakuza”, and claiming that he is the founder of the gang.
Police are also investigating how more than 20 cases of attempted murder, possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition, possession of drugs, stolen property, dangerous weapons, and intimidation were withdrawn against him after charges were laid at Delft SAPS.
According to court papers, Petersen was nabbed in Delft with R24 020 in his possession on 21 October 2019, apparently obtained from unlawful activities.
When asked where he got the money from, he said it came from his taxi business.
Cops also found two cellphones inside the red VW Golf 6 and after Petersen granted cops permission to browse them, they found communication between the suspect and a police officer where drugs and firearms were purchased.
The Delft cop was to be paid R500 to take the drugs to a JCY skollie on trial at Bellville Court.
It was revealed that Petersen has seven previous convictions dating back to 2007 for drug dealing and assault charges, receiving suspended sentences and fines.
Court papers say there were 44 murders and 28 attempted murders in the JCY Yakuza territory in Delft from 1 April to 9 December 2019.
