A Grassy Park family is pleading for help in finding their lost ouma who went missing without a trace last week.
The hartseer daughter of Margaret Jaftha, 65, says they have searched for several days now with no success.
Daughter Cheslene Dilgee, 41, explains her mother suffers from Alzheimer's and was last seen on Wednesday near her home in Plantation Road.
She explains: "My mom lives with my brothers in Plantation Road and was last seen on Wednesday morning around 9am.
"We suspect that she may have tried to walk to my house but then got lost. She was wearing a pink nighty and a purple gown.
"This is not the first time she has gone missing. The first time she went missing, we found her immediately and took her for medical check-up and the doctors said she had Alzheimer's.
"She was put on medication but we were waiting for a follow-up appointment at Groote Schuur Hospital for a further diagnosis."
Dilgee explains the family went on a frantic search but came up empty handed and immediately informed Grassy Park police.
She adds: "Our biggest fear is that she is hurt somewhere and unable to tell people who she is or where she lives or that maybe someone has passed her but mistook her for a homeless person."
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirms a missing person case was opened and says; ‘Kindly be advised that the person is still missing. The investigating officer is following up all leads in a bid to locate the missing person’.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Gregory Kleinhans on 079 894 1307, 021 700 3927 or Dilgee on 067 313 1935.
