A Factreton family are looking for 37-year-old Mark Booysen who has been missing since November 27.
His nephew Denton Petersen told the Daily Voice his uncle was last seen leaving their home in Glider Street after midnight.
“Mark left the house that Saturday after midnight and on Monday we were worried that he did not come back,” he says.
“Before he would leave the house and be away for a few hours but he would always come back.
“A friend of his came to say that he last saw Mark at 18th Avenue here close to the house.
“Last Saturday, people came to the house with his shoe and told us that they found it there where he was last seen.
“My grandmother went to the police to tell him and they said we must go check by the morgue but we must still go.”
Denton added the family are concerned over the well-being of Mark who has a history of drug abuse.
“We do not know where he is or what he is out doing but we just want to have closure.
“The area where he was last seen is used by guys here in the area to burn cables and stuff, so the friend told us that he went to fetch a trolley for stuff but when he came back so Mark was gone while the stuff was still there.”
If anybody has any information about Mark, they can call Western Cape Missing Persons Unit on 071 639 8344.
