Macassar police are appealing for help in identifying the body of a man who was found dumped near a wastewater treatment plant on Sunday morning.
Law Enforcement spokesperson, Wayne Dyason, says fishermen got a skrik when they found the man lying face down in the sewage water shortly after 8am.
“The body of an unknown man was discovered by fishermen at about 8am behind the wastewater treatment plant on Sunday,” says Dyason.
“The man was wearing a shorts and T-shirt and the fishermen alerted Law Enforcement officers who confirmed that he was dead.
“Macassar police were called to the scene and it appears that the body was dumped there overnight as the fishermen did not see a body the day before.”
Dyason says when officers took a closer look at the corpse, they found the man had burn marks on his wrists and neck.
“It was very strange and not clear how he
sustained those injuries.”
