The legendary race takes place in Durban in two weeks.
Solomon Miller, 56, has been running for 36 years and says he does not want to stop.
He needs help in raising R4 000 for his trip.
Solomon has been running since 1981 and his dream started when he watched the 89km ultra marathon on TV.
“In my matric year I watched the marathon on TV and told myself I want to do that. The next year I started training and at the age of 19 I ran in my first Comrades Marathon,” Solomon says.
The Comrades marathon takes place in Durban on 4 June and athletes have to run as far as Pietermaritzburg.
Solomon’s best time during his 26 years of participating in the marathon is eight hours and 50 minutes.
It’s always been his dream to race every year until his health, old age or death prevents him.
“I desperately want to participate and complete the 2017 Comrades,” says Solomon.
“I want to finish my 27th race. Unfortunately I need funds towards the travelling cost and accommodation as every year the fees goes up.
“Running is part of my lifestyle and I just want to prove that there is still very much athleticism in me,” he adds.
