Carol Davids needs help locating her brother who has been missing for five months.
John Davids, 59, from Elsies River has three children and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Carol says after the death of their mother in October last year, her brother started taking long walks, to help him process the tragedy.
But on 31 March he went for a walk and did not return home.
“Ever since our mother passed away he became disturbed and started taking these walks.
“He would say he was looking for our mother.
“Every time I left for work he would take a walk outside but he always returned,” says Carol.
“At around 10pm that night when he did not return, I started panicking and reported him at the police station as a missing person.”
But five months later, there has been no trace of her brother and she says she has done all in her power to find him: “I walk to areas to put up placards with his face hoping that someone will recognise him and call with information.”
“The police even took my DNA samples as they say they always find bodies and want to check if they do not match that of my brother.”
Carol said the last lead she got was that someone had seen him walking in Pinelands.
Anyone with information can call officer Bernard on 073 2721 107 or Carol on 082 9663 667.
