An alleged sex pest from Retreat will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court after being caught by cops on Friday.
The man, who allegedly drives around naked and then calls women to his car to drive with him, was nabbed after a Retreat woman opened a case against him for indecent exposure.
Steenberg Community Police Forum (CPF) chairperson, Gavin Walbrugh, says they became aware of the man’s activities two weeks ago, when the woman took to Facebook.
“In the post the woman explained that her domestic worker was approached by the man in a white car with a red bonnet,” he says.
“The man was naked and shouted at her to get in, but she ran away and the matter was reported to police.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, confirmed on Friday that officers from the Wynberg Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit arrested the man at noon.
“This office can confirm that a 33-year-old male was arrested today at 12:00 by the investigating officer of Wynberg FCS on a charge of indecent exposure.”
Walbrugh says they are happy the kaalgat man is behind bars.
“At this stage it is not clear if he tried anything sexual, but we are glad he has been arrested and encourage others who have had incidents with him to come forward.
“There are several schools in that area, and we believe children and women have been at risk with him going around kaalgat.”
