A Muizenberg lawyer accused of sexually exploiting teenage boys by paying them to have orgies on the beach has been sent to the mang.
Theo Hartzenberg, 36, made his first appearance at Muizenberg Magistrates’ Court on Monday amid protests by angry moms who are demanding justice for their children.
He was busted over the weekend after a 39-year-old mother investigated the claims and discovered that her son had been used for sex for two months.
“My son is 14 years old and there is always a group of friends who are at our house,” the woman explains.
“Last Monday they had an argument and one of the boys told my husband that this was happening.
“We were shocked and didn’t know if it was true.
“The next day he came home after 10pm and I checked him because we have a time in our house. I was so shocked when he told me the truth.”
She says her son revealed that the group of boys visit Surfer’s Corner each day where they beg for money and this is how they met Hartzenberg.
“They skarrel there and someone told them that if they go to that man, they will get money.
“My son told me he felt their penises to see who was the biggest then put condoms on the ones with big penises and told them to klim hom op (have sex with him) for R100.”
“They did it there on the beach when it was dark and that is why my son was coming home so late,” the upset woman says.
“They also told me that the boys with small penises had to stand in front of the lawyer and skommel for him and he would pay them R50.
“He had sex with all of them in one night and paid them. I am so hartseer and shocked at this sick behaviour to hear what he did to our children.”
Hartzenberg was busted by Muizenberg police on Friday after seven children came forward to report him, with the youngest victim being just 12 years old.
SAPS’ Noloyiso Rwexana, confirms the arrest and says he was charged with unlawfully and intentionally engaging sexual services of children for a reward .
Outside court, moms were supported by the Smart Kingdom Kids Academy who are assisting with counselling.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s Eric Ntabazalila, says the case was remanded to 25 and 26 May for a bail hearing.
