A 53-year-old man has been arrested after he was found with 10kg of a mystery substance at a house where he had been growing dagga.
Law Enforcement made the arrest on 20 March when they raided the residence in Muizenberg.
In the backyard they found several dagga plants, chemicals and equipment including 10kg of the white stuff, which is believed to be used in the manufacturing of mandrax.
Inspector Wayne Dyason, spokesperson for Law Enforcement, says the man was arrested inside the house.
The man, who is a Swedish national, is well-known to cops, according to sources close to the investigation.

Dyason says they soon realised the man had begun cultivating dagga.
“On 20 March, Law Enforcement officers in a joint operation with the police arrested a 53-year-old male at a house in Muizenberg,” he says.
“The suspect had allegedly established his own home dagga cultivation plant.
“A huge amount of dagga plants in various stages of progression was found in the yard of the property.
“Lighting and other electrical equipment as well about 10kg of an unidentified white powder was confiscated.
“It is suspected these are ingredients used in the manufacturing of mandrax. He was arrested and charged at Muizenberg SAPS.”
Police together with Law Enforcement also noticed that the man was wounded after he had been bitten by a dog.
The wounds on his legs gave no indication when he was attacked.
