Elsewhere on the Cape Flats, the numbers are only slightly less alarming for gang-plagued Hanover Park - 1 338 rounds of bullets fired and 374 shootings.
This is according to the latest statistics from Shotspotter, a system installed by the City of Cape Town in Manenberg and Hanover Park which uses radio waves to detect the location of gunshots.
The data was collated from the period 1 July to 30 September.
According to a breakdown by street, the most gunshots in Hanover Park were detected in:
* Athon Walk (201 shots)
* Johndown Road (143 shots)

The Daily Voice team joined Metro Police officers on night shift last Thursday as they responded to various shootings.
Once a gunshot goes off, an alert is sent to the officer in charge of the location, as well as the number of shots fired.
During the eight-hour shift, officers responded to six shootings but no fatalities or injuries were reported.
“Just because nobody is hurt, it doesn’t mean nobody would have been hurt,” an officer said.
While responding to an alert in Johndown Walk, officers who spotted a man acting suspiciously chased him into a house.
The occupants were caught smoking mandrax and cleaning guns.

The house belongs to a known member of the Mongrels and the man admitted to officers he “prepares” the firearms for the gang.
The three men were arrested and the firearms and drugs were confiscated.
From July to September, six people died, 20 people were injured and six people were arrested for shooting incidents.
In some of the most recent gang shootings, two Manenberg mothers were killed.
On 9 October, Malieka Davids, 33, was shot in Gonubie Street. She was hit in the stomach and died in Groote Schuur Hospital.
Four days later, Ayesha Ismail, 52, was shot and killed in front of her home in Letaba Road.
Shootings in Hanover Park are more common on a Sunday with 288 incidents recorded, and in Manenberg the most shots, 331, are recorded on a Saturday.

Most shootings are recorded from 9pm to midnight.
Roegshanda Pascoe, of the Manenberg Safety Forum, says children are continually traumatised, as hearing gunshots has become a part of everyday life.
“I always say it is like bombs going off and now people can see we are not exaggerating. Our people are so used to it and we live in fear,” she says.
“You go to bed with death and you wake up to death. Everyone is on edge because you know at any time you could be hit by a bullet.
“We face gunfire and we don’t have bulletproof vests but we must go to work and our children must go to school. The army needs to come.”
City Mayco Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says the numbers speak for themselves.
“It is impossible for government to deny what is happening in these suburbs. There is now a definitive, numerical assessment of just how bad the situation is and not just impressions.
“You cannot keep denying how big the problem is. It is not normal. It is outrageous.”
