A man and a 17-year-old boy were wounded in gunfire in Delft and Tafelsig this week.
Cops were called to Leiden Avenue in Delft on Wednesday at about 6:30pm where they found a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the left thigh.
Community members claimed that three people had been shot, but this could not be verified.
Police spokesperson, Sergent Botsotso George Mjiwu, explains: “Delft police are investigating attempted murder following a shooting incident which happened at Leiden Avenue, Delft on Wednesday at 6:30pm where a 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his left thigh. No one has been arrested yet.”
In Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain cops arrived at the scene along Piketberg and Pakhuis streets where a 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded.
Police spokesperson, Siyabulela Malo, confirms the incident: “A case of attempted murder has been opened for investigation following a shooting incident [which]occurred [on Wednesday]at 7pm on the corner of Piketberg and Parkhuis streets, Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.
“According to information a 17-year-old was shot and sustained a gunshot wound to his back. The victim was taken to a nearby healthcare facility for medical treatment.
“No arrests have been made so far.”
